JOHN HUFFMAN
CEO, Director of Sales
John and his wife Elizabeth founded Black Door in 2016 as a project to improve the lives and homes of those around them. They both serve the community in a variety of ways, including serving as Mayor here in Southlake. When John isn’t at Black Door HQ, he’s spending time with family, coaching kids sports, spending time in the outdoors, or playing basketball.
MATTHEW MCGREGOR
Director of Preconstruction
Matthew is our Director of Preconstruction and Estimator at Black Door. An early career in multi-media and live show production left him with an eye for visual design and a keen sense of style as well as good timing and a puzzlers mind for putting things together and making them work in harmony. He works to capture the vision our clients share, and assemble it into a buildable project using his 15 years of building experience. He also holds a professional property inspectors license to keep the focus on quality.
NICK LUGO
Project Developer
Nick is a project developer and estimator at Black Door. Originally from West Texas, he has experience in Customer Service, Engineering, and worked for 6 years as an Estimator in commercial construction. In 2017, he decided to move his family to the DFW area and pursue a career in residential custom home building. Taking his creative eye and CAD experience, he can help take the project from design to execution.
ANDREA MOORE
Lead Designer
After graduating from Texas Christian University's accredited Interior Design program, Andrea joined the Black Door Team as a Project Developer helping to produce floorplans and building out the projects before construction begins. From there she took over as lead designer, curating all design aspects to help create a beautiful finished product! Her favorite activities outside of work include traveling, spending time with friends and family, and cooking.
BELINDA LAHAR
Office & Accounts Payable Manager
Belinda has held various positions in the homebuilding industry for the past 17 years. Currently, she is the Office & Accounts Payable Manager at Black Door Renovation. She has been married for 30 years and has a 23 year old son. She likes to read, watch movies, and spend time with her family, including the four-legged ones.
JOE URBON
Project Manager
Joe is a Senior Project Manager at Black Door. He has extensive experience in all phases of construction starting with building houses as a carpenter and finish carpenter while earning his Industrial Design degree in college. Early in his career, he built cabinets and trade show exhibits and models, followed by 20 years of owning and operating a trade show display company where he designed and built custom trade show displays, for small companies to Fortune 500 companies. Joe is a perfectionist with a discriminating eye for design, fabrication techniques, and detail. In his circle of friends, he is known as “MacGyver” for his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and creative solutions. Joe enjoys spending time boating, jeeping, traveling, outdoor activities, exploring new destinations and spending time with his family and dogs.
ROBERT OCNASCHEK
Project Manager
Robert brings over 25 years of technical, client-facing and high pressure project management experience which has allowed him to quickly excel in the home renovation construction industry.
Robert is a hard worker, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence during every aspect of the construction process. He works to develop strong client relationships quickly and is known for his high ethical standards and trustworthiness. When not at work you can find Robert on the the lake or at sporting events with his wife and three kids.
